Crashed the E-III in some bad wind. It's been retired.

Wednesday night flying at the NH Flying Misfits club field. Too windy to get the E-III up and flying, but Jim Sarette and I took a couple of nice photos of it on the bench.

Finally got a break in the weather and was able to maiden the E-III. It flew great, even though I was flying in wind that was way stronger than the E-III deserved to be in. Landing was a little rough, and unplanned, but the plane shook off the bumps with no damage. Tough plane, and flys nicely. I can't wait for calmer weather to get some more flying time on it.

Finished building my Fokker E-III from PR-Kits.com. I still need to add markings, and then do the rigging wires. This is built from Peter Rakes CNC cut kit, which includes the materials to build the nice scale wheels. This plane is designed for a geared speed 280 can motor. Mine is powered by a 14-turn Astro 010 geared brushless and 2x1020 LiPoly cells. Receiver is a GWS R-4p controlling two GWS Pico servos. Covering is Nelson Film 'Antique' color. I'm ready to maiden this while I figure out how to do the markings.
