in 1758, Lt. Col. John Bradstreet, with New England and New York
troops, crossed Lake Ontario and took Ft. Frontenac at Cadaraqui
in just 11 days -- the first British success of the French and
Indian War. This lecture is based on the orderly book of Capt.
Richard Hewlett and the Diary of Lt. Col. Charles Clinton and
examines the colonial force which overcame considerable obstacles
of wilderness transportation to execute the raid.
Robert Mulligan is a lifelong wargamer, an 18th century
re-enactor and the former military curator of the New York State
Museum in Albany, N.Y. He served for seven years as adjutant
of The Brigade of the American Revolution.
